I admire structures that offer us character and uniqueness. I tend toward the old more often than the new. Often I find decaying architecture appealing. At times the most interesting part of a building is what was there before its skin went on. Some structures are better seen at night than by the light of day.

I think that our views of architectural photography are unduly rigid and formal. We try too hard to control tilt and shift. Wide views and unusual perspectives interest me and invite me to look closer and longer.

Architecture is to make us know and remember who we are.
Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe, British architect
